Art Care Tips

We want your art to last a lifetime. Here are a few simple ways to care for your piece:

For Prints (Made-to-Order)

  • Handle with care when unboxing to avoid creases or fingerprints. Wash hands or wear clean gloves if possible.
  • Avoid direct sunlight. Even with archival inks, long-term exposure to UV rays can cause fading.
  • Keep dry. Do not hang prints in high-humidity areas like bathrooms.
  • Frame with a mat or spacer. This keeps the print from touching the glass and preserves texture and quality.
  • Dust gently. Use a soft cloth or duster — do not use cleaning products or water.

For Original Works (Shipped from the Studio)

  • Keep out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.
  • Avoid excessive handling. Oils from hands can damage paper or pigment over time.
  • Store flat or framed. If not immediately framing, store in a clean, dry space between archival papers.
  • Use archival materials when framing — acid-free mats and UV-protective glass help preserve your piece.
  • Contact us if you’re unsure how to care for a specific medium (ink, pencil, collage, etc.).
